Sara was generous enough to answer a few questions about her business and give a little insight on why she decided to start P.S. I Love You Skin Care.

What drove you to create P.S. I Love You Skin Care?
The desire for high-end skincare without the chemical preservatives and the big price tag. I want those magical ingredients like the Epidermal Growth Factor and the Poly-Peptides in my moisturizer too! But as the mother of a 4 1/2 and 3 year old we have other expenses that take priority over my need for beautiful skin. This line offers the same quality ingredients at an affordable price. It’s a great feeling to like the way your skin looks and feels without breaking the budget.

How do you come up with your recipes and formulas?
Lots and lots of research! Also consulting with a Bio-Chemist who specializes in skincare.

Why did you choose to make all natural skin care products?
Both myself and our son have sensitive skin that is reactive to so many skin care products. Unfortunately there are so many products available that are laden with chemical preservatives and unnecessary ingredients that can be harmful. I want to be healthy and I want my family to be healthy and helping that happen by being aware of what we are putting on and into our bodies.

Out of all the products you make, which one is your favourite and why?
Truly I use them all and love them all. Two of my biggest sellers are the Organic Vitamin A Night serum which is great for all skin types and the Body Butter such a treat for those hot days in the summer sun.

P.S. I Love You Skin Care generously sent me a few samples of their products to test out. I had the pleasure of trying Pink Lemonade Moisturizing Lip Balm, Almond Cream Body Butter, Organic Milk Cleanser and the Organic Restoring Cream with CoQ10.

Organic Milk Cleanser – The one thing that’s almost impossible to find is a cleanser that does not contain Sulfates. Even if they say they are all natural and organic they almost always contain the foaming agent Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate. SLS and SLES are esters of Sulphuric acid used to create a foaming affect in cleansers, soaps, shampoos, detergents and toothpastes. One of the main affects of Sulfates is it mimics the hormone Oestrogen. This can lead to numerous types of cancer including Breast Cancer. I try to avoid products with Sulfates as much as I possibly can.

I have been looking everywhere for a facial cleanser that does not contain SLS and I have finally found one! P.S. I Love You Skin Care’s Organic Milk Cleanser is a non-foaming, gentle natural cleanser that moisturizes while gently exfoliating even the most delicate of skin.

P.S. I Love You Skin Cares Organic Milk Cleanser left my skin feeling refreshed and clean all day. The only thing I did not like about this product was that a small amount just didn’t cut it. I would have to keep going back for more to cover my face. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t add sulfates to the equation. Definitely something I can live with though.

Almond Cream Body Butter – The one thing I can’t stand about body butter is it always leaves me skin feeling oily. I always end up just wiping it off and giving the remainder to a friend. P.S. I Love You Skin Care’s Almond Cream Body Butter was not like that at all! When you first open the container you think it’s going to be oily because the oil has separated but that’s not the case at all. It goes on smoothly and leaves you feeling moisturized and refreshed, not oily! P.S. I Love You Skin Care’s Almond Cream Body Butter also smells amazing and the scent lasts forever! If you’re looking for an all natural, organic, non oily body butter, this is your product!

Pink Lemonade Moisturizing Lip Balm – I am a lip balm-aholic! I always keep lip balm on hand and without it I literally feel naked. As soon as I receive my samples I immediately applied the Pink Lemonade Moisturizing Lip Balm. First thing I noticed was it smelt amazing! It smelt like candy! Immediately I noticed a difference. My lips went from hard and cracked, to soft and moisturized. Even after a few hours my lips still felt wonderful. It’s also nice to know that I am putting a completely natural product on my lips.

Organic Restoring Cream with CoQ10 – The first time I applied this was after I had a shower. I washed my face with the Organic Milk Cleanser and proceeded to apply the Organic Restoring Cream. When I walked into the bedroom my boyfriend looked at me and said “Wow, your skin looks firmer! Did you do something?”. Yes sir, I did! I used P.S. I Love You Skin Care’s amazing Organic Restoring Cream. This cream is perfect for dry or wrinkled skin. I am only 21 so I do not have wrinkles (I hope). My face does tend to get dry an crack because I touch it so much. P.S. I Love You Skin Care’s cream made my face silky smooth and got rid of the bags under my eyes. Now my skin always looks bright and awake!
